By corporate policy, ProCoat Products, Inc. prefers not to sell directly to end-users. ProCoat relies on dealers to inventory and distribute product at the local level. Only by adhering to this policy has ProCoat been able to forge the strong relationship it has with its dealers.
ProCoat's dealers tend to fall into two categories:
Paint and Sundries
ProCoustic, ProCoat's acoustical coating, is applied with the same spray equipment that is used by commercial painters for traditional paint systems. In renovation project documentation and requests for bid, ceiling restoration and the specification of ProCoustic is often contained within the paint section.
Therefore, it is only logical that contractors be able to purchase ProCoustic from their favorite paint dealer. Large companies with multiple locations and/or smaller independent dealers distribute ProCoat's line of products.
Acoustical Suppliers
Many distributors of ProCoat's products also represent manufacturers of ceiling tile, grid systems, and associated sundry items. While some projects require new tiles and others are more appropriately completed via the restoration route, it only makes sense that one dealer can provide products for either situation. In renovation project documentation and requests for bid, ceiling restoration and the specification of ProCoustic is often contained within the ceiling section.
Also, ProCoat's accessory products such as the Grid Cleaning Solution and the Acoustical Tile Restorer in Aerosol, are complimentary to the sale of new t-bar and tile systems, respectively.
